INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS HELD AT THE HAJVERY UNIVERSITY

The Hajvery University, Lahore celebrated The 71st Independence Day of Pakistan with traditional enthusiasm and fervor. Pakistanis celebrate Independence Day on August 14; this day signifies freedom for Muslims of the subcontinent and commemorates the sacrifices of our ancestors for a separate homeland for the Muslims and minorities to peacefully live in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Malik Muhammad Iqbal, Director Euro Campus, Hajvery University said that Pakistan was created with immense sacrifices by our forefathers and laid stress on strengthening the national institutions of the country. He stressed the importance of education for the success of a knowledge-based-economy; he further added that Hajvery University has been playing a pivotal role in the creation of better opportunities for the research and development of various sectors of the economy and much more needs to be undertaken in order to harness the potential of science and technology.
All students wore green and white outfits to show their unity; students performed dramas, sung national songs, held paintings and photography showcases to express their love for their country.

The deans of various faculties, heads of the academic departments, and administrative sections attended the event. The campus was decorated with Pakistani flags and banners to mark Independence Day. It is indeed a proud moment for all Pakistanis to celebrate their independence.
There were speeches by a number of students which drew the attention of all towards the supreme sacrifice by the great martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of freedom, and those individuals who played an instrumental role in the making of Pakistan, most notably the father of the Nation: Quaid e Azam, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
